archiDESK – Meeting for breakfast #5!

Meeting for breakfast at archiDESK.co.uk is a format combining the online and offline worlds aimed at architects, architects and interior and landscape designers, which has been well-respected in the industry for many years. The latest edition, organized as part of Meeting for Breakfast, was held on Tuesday, May 28, at Warsaw’s Domoteka. Końskie Group was the main partner of the event.

Domoteka is a special place on the map of Warsaw design. Friendly to all initiatives promoting good design and art, it had the pleasure of hosting representatives of the broader architectural industry at its home for the 5th edition of this year’s Meeting for Breakfast, organized as part of archiDESK. The day, abounding in thematic events, began with a morning coffee with the Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration Polska – Anna Chwalińska, who recently assumed this prestigious position. Then Wladyslaw Grochowski – President of ARCHE Group, who literally the day before received the Award of the Polish Business Council in the category of Success, “hotly” talked about this important award in the business world at a meeting in Domoteka. In turn, Natalia Paszkowska (WWAA studio), Piotr Kalinowski (MIXD), Marcin Garbacki (Projekt Praga) and Wojciech Januszczyk (Krajobrazy Foundation) discussed revitalizations and readaptations of architecture, which was the main topic of the meeting. Speeches by representatives of the brands invited to participate in the meeting – Anna Leitgeber of MAPEI Poland, Wladyslaw Pawlowski of Saint-Gobain and Petro Vladimirov of the BRDA Foundation – also oscillated in this theme. The entire event was topped off by a lecture by the irreplaceable Przemo Lukasik of Medusa Group under the telling title “Quo vadis, architekturo?”.

During the meeting, the theme of the past and future of architecture resonated in a special way. And this is due to the unusual environment in which the 5th was held. edition of Meeting for Breakfast. In fact, a special Old Walls zone was recently created at Domoteka, emphasizing the importance and relevance for future generations of the trend of revitalizing old buildings and restoring them to new splendor.

“The whole clue of our project, of our meetings in the Old Walls, is to meet and talk about whether it’s worth revitalizing, and if so, how to do it in order to do it well – economically, ecologically, with respect for architecture and nature. So that the Old Walls become a knowledge base for revitalization.” – said Wojciech Kolęda, architect co-leader of the Perspectives thematic block.
