Capture the intangible. Tomasz Bieniek’s exhibition at Domoteka
06/06/2024
On June 13 at 7:00 pm at the Domoteka Design Center in Warsaw, ul. Malbork 41 will host an opening of the works of painter and graphic artist Tomasz Bieniek. The artist will present excerpts from three larger series of paintings, which, gathered together, will help transport visitors to a metaphysical journey.
The exhibition at Domoteka will present fragments of 3 separate series by the artist, which, however, share a common denominator – metaphysical reflection and an attempt to capture the elusive. The “Light/Shadow” series is the latest to explore the relationship between light and shadow and consciousness and the subconscious. The artist uses different textures to create clear contrasts on the canvas. “Herod’s Court” is inspired by Christian tradition and alludes to biblical stories, such as the tale of Herod. The images prompt reflection on power, justice and morality, raising questions about their universal relevance in a contemporary secular context. In the “Monkey Grove” series, the artist uses allegorical representations of monkeys. They symbolize human instincts and primitive inclinations. The works encourage contemplation of the human condition, its nature and social relations.
Through these three series, Tomasz Bieniek not only explores the spiritual and moral aspects of human experience, but also provokes universal reflections, regardless of the religious context. The artist combines tradition and modernity, creating a bridge between the sacred and the profane, which gives his work a deeper meaning and encourages viewers to reflect.
The opening of the exhibition will be held as early as June 13 at. 7:00 pm at the Domoteka Design Center in Warsaw at ul. Malbork 41.
Tomasz Bieniek’s exhibition will be on view until the end of the summer vacation.
Tomasz Bieniek (born 1980) in 2005. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. The Graphic Design Department determined his perception of painting. He identifies himself more as a graphic designer than a painter, although he uses means appropriate to the latter. In his creative pursuits, he is interested in the plastic form, which gives him the opportunity to express an expressive graphic gesture with a narrowed color palette. In addition to his artistic work, he is involved in advertising. He has been doing illustrations and storyboards for many years.
